When I think of Mexico, several stereotypes come to mind. First, the country is poor. Mexico has really good food and the climate is very warm. The government is detached from the people. Stereotypes about Mexicans are they are uneducated, hard-workers and they speak poor English. The men are dirty and sexually forward. The women tend to gossip a lot. Mexicans in general are short.
During my stay in Mexico, I expect to learn a lot. I hope to broaden my horizon and view of the world. I want to take as much away from the Mexican culture as possible. I want to speak more Spanish than English. I expect to improve my Spanish skills and become semi-fluent by the time I come home. I also hope that my stomach will eventually adjust to the food!
