OUMAYAB- The Ohio University Spanish Abroad Program

When concerning Mexico and Mexicans I do have some stereotypes. I feel like the men there might be a little more willing to take advantage of women. I also think that the people there might not be as wealthy. I am also picturing Mérida to be denser than what I’m used to, with more people living under one roof possibly.

Some of my expectations for this trip to Merida, Mexico are to complete my Spanish minor requirements and to improve my speaking skills since that is my weak point. I also want to meet new people and live with a great family. I want to travel and visit historical sights. I hope this will be an experience of a lifetime.
