OUMAYAB- The Ohio University Spanish Abroad Program

While in Mexico, I have several expectations. First and foremost, I plan to immerse myself in the Spanish language in order to gain expertise and become fluent. Secondly, I expect to immerse myself in Mexican culture. I have traveled to many countries, but I have not had the opportunity to live outside the United States. Last I expect to enjoy myself and have a good time while I am in Mexico.

I would assume that very few people speak English in the Yucatan region of Mexico. Also, I would assume the people in Mexico eat simple, cheap cuisine consisting heavily of fish and other seafood. I would assume most of the people in Mexico are poor by American standards. I would also assume more people live in a house on average than the average occupancy of an American household.
